taking off tomorrow on his Harley for the weekend and wanted to spend some time with me–that’s nice!

Well, neither of us knew what to do, so we went for a drive with my formation maps cross referenced with a road map. It was nice scenery, but I only came up with one new hunting ground.

About a half mile east of Rifle Hill Quarry on Cty. 14 (From Spring Valley take Hwy. 63 to Hwy. 14 and go east about, oh say, 10 miles more or less.).  About a half mile cut! Lo0ks to be all shale. The shale has a lot of light blue rock, slate? Crinoid sign and I think this is a trilobite exoskeleton.

As I was walking the cut, Bob was getting bored in the car and decided to walk down ahead of me and sit on the rocks.

Trilobite!

Trilobite!

Bob found this GREAT TRILOBITE! Some shell still on it and in a rock way too big to get out! We knicknamed him “Stucky” because he is stuck in the rock.  🙂

I found some nice graptolites and we had a nice drive!
