This park is WONDERFUL for children – fossils, fossils everywhere!
BRING:
Water – no water for sale
Sunscreen – no shade to speak of
Brimmed Hat that will be secure on a windy day
Chap Stick – prairie winds
A bag or pail to carry your fossils
A rock hammer, knife or weeder to pry the fossils you find out of the dirt/clay.

You have windswept restored prairie to hike, in the brick yards you are walking over millions of years of fossils and you can collect any of them for personal use, bird watching, picnicking, and fishing in the river.
The center is educational and offers various programs and is open to bus tours – good restrooms here and a water fountain. For more information go here:
