This is a 233 page dissertation that covers the geologic history of NE Iowa. Starting on page 66 there are well drawn plates of fossils for identification and these go on for perhaps 50 pages. Most are applicable to Minnesota as we have the same rock formations – Galena in particular. What I found truly awesome was the page after page of fossil collecting sites that she writes about. Now mind you, these were in the ’60s, but many will still be there. So, now you can go fossil huntin’ in Iowa!

You can also buy it off of Amazon.  🙂
