GENERAL EVENT  INFORMATION
There will be 12 seminars. 4 on Friday and 8 on Saturday.  We are really excited
about the people that will be  presenting. There are so many experts in the driftless
area we live in and call home. We hope people will learn  more than they could ever
have imagined about our unique region…things above ground and  things below.
Caves…Rocks…Fossils…Rivers…Native  plants…Fishing…Hands on fly casting
demonstrations and fly tying by our local Hiawatha Trout  Unlimited chapter.
These are just a few of the offerings. We will have  2 excellent movies. One
on the uniqueness of our driftless  region, and one by the number one Morel
mushroom expert Larry Lonic….how  to recognize and hunt for  them…
We will have an expert there to answer questions after the video presentation.
You won’t want to miss it….if you like hunting and  eating them.
The Rochester Century HS outdoor biology students are  getting involved
…teaching kids at a few stations emphasizing  outdoor etiquette and safety
and maybe some fishing or hunting tips and advice. They are also planning
on helping to distribute posters and fliers.  Thanks go out  to Bruce Frutiger,
their awesome teacher!!
Some communities or organizations are purchasing 2 booths and involving
3 or 4 people to help split the cost.   The  Minnesota DNR also will be there
and have 2 booths with all sorts of things to check  out…plus seminar time.
This has really turned into an educational  event. We would love to involve
our local communities and see  it promoted …especially in the schools.
Insty-Prints in Rochester put together a beautiful  flier/poster and as of this
afternoon it is now  on our website. You can print it off and make copies  for
your schools, businesses, bars and restaurants to promote it.  Local websites
with links to our site would also be an excellent way to showcase  your area
for those that would love to know  more about where we  live.  In the attached
file below  you can view it right  away, even print off a copy if you like.
The seminar schedule will be put online soon. The times  and presenters need
to be finalized.  Right now  we have only so  many seminars and more than enough
people capable of doing them.  We want to  pick carefully and not be redundant in
the presentations.
The media blitz is about to begin!  We have 30  and 60 second public
service announcements that will start to air on KTTC, FOX,  the CW and
also ME-TV.  Radio and print media will be  substantial.  IF you have any
suggestions for us…please contact me!  If you click  below  you can view
the 60 second public service announcement.  Ron  Schara is narrating.
He turns in a great performance with that distinguishable  voice of his.
