This is the third one I have bought and I am totally sold on these carts for the money! I’m posting a picture of the box so that you can read all about it. I have bought mine at Fleet Farm and at Alco, so I’m thinking that any big box store will have them.

They run $39.99 not on sale, but are regularly on sale for $29.99, so just wait for the sale. Six drawers that are perfect for putting inexpensive (< $3) plastic craft boxes (Michaels, Hobby Lobby, etc.) in for specimen boxes.

Just cut off the lid, place it under the box in the drawer and you can even cut compartments to size if you like. A great thread on this is on TFF:

You can buy two and stack them, just by adding glue and a couple of screws. I’m 5’5″ and can easily see into the top drawer. You can even display a large fossil on top!

Beware though, you may lose your cart as soon as you put it together! They are fabulous for crafts, scrapbooking, tools, sewing supplies and even to  create rolling work benches and computer tables – 3/4 inch plywood on top, with roller, and it is the perfect height for typing! For the money, it is hard to find a better deal!

Had a few questions on contruction details, so here are a few more pics.

cart construction

Note how without the wheels the bottom can be glued and screwed onto the top of another cart almost invisibly.

Drawer slides are almost unbreakable.

Wheels aren’t bad for the money!

I’ve had two of these now for almost a year getting daily use,

just bought a third and will be buying more as I can afford them.

I’m considering painting mine in gloss black, but then I like wood tones too. 🙂

Although handles aren’t needed on the drawers,

I’ve considered glueing junk fossils to match the specimens inside onto the drawer fronts.

How cool would THAT be!

$60 and you have 12 drawers!

Extra wheels to put on something else.

I just pre-drilled and set 4 screws in the bottom of the top cart into the top of the bottom cart.

ENJOY!
