A wonderful dry wash!

A wonderful dry wash!

I went fossil hunting today. Just me, the bird song, and fresh scent of wild flowers and woods. As I pushed through a bevy of wild flowers the dry wash I was working was so stunning that I had to take a picture!

What a I love about fossil hunting is the closeness to nature – the bird song, the scents on the air, the beauty of the rocks and the feel of their roughness or smoothness against my skin, and in August how GREEN everything is in Minnesota! We really have only a 90 day growing season in Minnesota. Only the hardiest of plants can green up for six months here, but oh the green in August is like fireworks!

Perspective :-D

Geodized Cephalopod!

Geodized Cephalopod!

Here is a geodized cephalopod I found. Unfortunately the rock it is in is way too big to move!

And here is the haul!

The Haul!

I’m teasing you, of course!

Just click the picture to make it bigger!

I am not going to post any more locations of hunts, until YOU

send me your hunts and locations!

Hey, a roadside hunt and what you found? SHARE!

I will post one of my new hunts for one of your hunts!
